…moms (especially my mom and my wife).
It’s mother’s day afternoon, the sink is full of dishes and Jess is sleeping. I think that means I should do the dishes…hmmm.
This morning the Gosselin’s, the family from TLC’s “John and Kate Plus 8″ reality show, spoke at our church. It was very nice to hear of their faith and trust. With the major transitions coming up for us in the next two months, a trust in God message is always something I need to hear. Jess and I love watching their show as well. Hilarious and wildly entertaining. (I’m not sure if I’d enjoy someone saying that about my life or not). I know I can barely handle our two, I can’t imagine 6 more.
Which brings me to my next point: I could never be a mother. Here’s is my master list of things that Jess can do and does which are beyond my ability.
- Put up with crying toddlers all day without a break.
- Rarely leave the house. Seriously, she’s nearly a hermit. I would literally go insane.
- Parent two children and a husband all at once.
- Remember to lay the girl’s down for a nap on time.
- Feed the children food other than what I am eating.
- Make Jadyn’s hair look good.
- Read books and magazines on parenthood
- Keep sanity.
- Clean the bathroom, do the dishes, laundry, child duties, vacuum, dust, make 18 to-do lists, check email, and instruct husband to take out the trash all in the same afternoon.
- Give birth
Seriously, I could never do her job. So instead we’ll just celebrate mother’s day. The plan is to go out to dinner tonight. We’ll see where she wants to go. For now, I’m doing the dishes…

Thanks for the Mother’s Day greeting, Joel. You are right about Jess; she is an awesome mother. I’m glad you appreciate her so much!! I know it means a lot to her.
Thank you both for the cards I received!! Meant so much.
Love you all very much.

Hi Joel,
I agree 100% I could never do Amber’s job. As tough as my job can be, I would never trade it for Amber’s job. I’ve been able to stay at home with Zack for a week before while Amber went to a wedding in TX and while I absolutely loved the time Zack and I had together I was ready for her to come home!

Hi Joel. My wife gave the Mother’s Day message at my church this year–harlly seems fair, huh? I’m the pastor and she gives the message. Oh well, she did great!
Hey, if it’s not too much trouble can I ask you something?
I’m frustrated with my blog. As a pastor of a large church, I have close to 1,000 readers a day on my blog, but still have a low authority on Technorati. I want people to see this beyond North Carolina, but I guess I don’t know how to get people to link and that seems to be the issue. I mean, I’ve learned that this is because I don’t have enough links to my blog site.
Why does this matter? Because I want to start reaching out to people beyond just the church, and to do that I need to get this blog up higher on the search engines.
I was wondering if you would be willing to put in a link exchange with me at http://www.robsingleton.net. If so, please send me an email to robtherev@gmail.com showing me where you’ve linked it and I will do the same. I know you will want to make sure we are on the up and up, so please check out our church, http://www.southbrookchurch.com and my blog to see if you would be comfortable with doing this. I’ve seen enough and know that I am.
Look forward to hearing from you!
